Agreement: By creating an account on iConnectJA, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms form a legal contract between you and Frontier Logistics Limited (trading as iConnectJA).
1. About iConnectJA
iConnectJA is a marketplace platform operated by Frontier Logistics Limited, a company registered in Jamaica. We connect homeowners and residents ("Residents") with HEART/NSTA certified tradesmen ("Tradesmen") island-wide.
iConnectJA is a platform, not an employer. We do not employ tradesmen. We do not guarantee the quality of work performed. Tradesmen are independent contractors. The contract for any job is between the Resident and the Tradesman โ iConnectJA facilitates the connection and payment only.
Our role is to: verify tradesman credentials, provide a secure job-posting and bidding system, process payments securely, and resolve disputes fairly.
2. Eligibility
To use iConnectJA you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid Jamaican mobile number (+1 876)
- Be legally permitted to enter contracts under Jamaican law
- Not have been previously banned from iConnectJA for violations of these Terms
Tradesmen must additionally hold a valid HEART/NSTA certification in their stated trade category.
3. Accounts & Verification
3.1 Registration
All users verify their identity via phone OTP (One-Time Password) sent to their Jamaican mobile number. One account per phone number is permitted.
3.2 Tradesman Verification
Tradesmen must upload a copy of their HEART/NSTA certificate. Our team manually reviews every certificate before the profile is approved. Uploading a fake, altered, or expired certificate is grounds for immediate and permanent account termination and may be reported to HEART/NSTA and relevant authorities.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for all activity on your account. Never share your OTP with anyone โ iConnectJA staff will never ask for your code. Report any suspected account compromise immediately to hello@iconnectja.net.
3.4 Accuracy
You must provide accurate, truthful information. Misrepresentation โ including false trade skills, false parish location, or false identity โ is a material breach of these Terms.
4. Rules for Residents (Job Posters)
- You may post jobs for lawful work only. No illegal construction, unlicensed electrical or plumbing work that requires a permit without obtaining that permit.
- Job descriptions must be accurate and honest. Do not misrepresent the scope of work to receive lower bids.
- You must pay the deposit through WiPay before a tradesman's contact details are released to you.
- You must mark the job as complete within 48 hours of the work being done. Unreasonable delays in marking completion may result in automatic release of payment after a review period.
- You may only leave reviews for jobs you actually hired on the platform. Fake reviews are prohibited.
- Do not attempt to take jobs off-platform to avoid fees. This is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.
5. Rules for Tradesmen
- You must hold a valid, current HEART/NSTA certificate in the trade you register under. Expired certificates must be updated immediately.
- You must only bid on jobs within your certified trade. A certified electrician cannot bid on plumbing jobs.
- You must appear for jobs you accept. A no-show without at least 2 hours' notice will result in a formal warning. Three no-shows result in account suspension.
- You must complete work to a professional standard. Shoddy work that results in a verified dispute may result in suspension.
- You must maintain an active subscription ($1,500 JMD/month) to keep your profile visible. A 3-day grace period applies after a missed payment.
- Do not solicit direct payment from Residents outside the platform. All payments must go through WiPay. Off-platform payment requests are grounds for immediate termination.
- Your HEART/NSTA certification details may be verified directly with HEART/NSTA at any time. Falsified credentials will be reported.
6. Payments & Fees

6.1 Escrow
When a Resident selects a Tradesman and pays a deposit, funds are held in escrow via WiPay Jamaica. Funds are released to the Tradesman only when:
- The Resident marks the job as "Complete", OR
- 72 hours have passed since the agreed completion date with no dispute raised, OR
- A dispute is resolved in the Tradesman's favour by iConnectJA
6.2 iConnectJA's platform commission is non-refundable
The 8% platform fee covers our verification, matching, and payment processing services and is not refundable once a job has been matched and the Tradesman has accepted.
Important: iConnectJA does not store your credit card or bank account information. All payment data is handled by WiPay Jamaica, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.
7. Disputes & Refunds
7.1 Raising a Dispute
If you believe a job was not completed to the agreed standard, you may raise a dispute within 48 hours of the agreed completion date by contacting us via WhatsApp (+1 876 501-5017) or email (hello@iconnectja.net).
7.2 Dispute Process
- You raise a dispute with evidence (photos, WhatsApp messages, job description)
- iConnectJA contacts both parties within 24 hours
- Both parties submit their account within 48 hours
- iConnectJA issues a decision within 5 business days
- iConnectJA's decision is final in all cases under $100,000 JMD job value
7.3 Refunds
- Full refund: If a Tradesman cancels after accepting a job and before starting work
- Partial refund: Determined by iConnectJA based on work completed, at our discretion
- No refund: If the job was marked complete by the Resident and no dispute was raised within 48 hours
- Approved refunds are processed within 3โ5 business days via WiPay to the original payment method
8. Prohibited Conduct
The following actions will result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination:
- Uploading fake, altered, or expired HEART/NSTA certificates
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a ban
- Soliciting or accepting payment outside the platform
- Posting fake reviews (positive or negative)
- Threatening, harassing, or abusing other users
- Attempting to access another user's account
- Using the platform to advertise non-trade services (MLM, cryptocurrency, etc.)
- Discriminating against Residents based on race, religion, gender, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the platform
9. Your Content
When you upload photos, job descriptions, reviews, or other content to iConnectJA, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and reproduce that content for the purpose of operating the platform (e.g., showing your job listing to tradesmen).
You retain ownership of your content. We do not use your job photos or descriptions for advertising without your explicit consent.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you post. Do not post photos that are copyrighted by others.
10. Liability Limits
iConnectJA is a marketplace platform. We do not perform the work ourselves and cannot guarantee the quality, safety, or timeliness of any tradesman's services.
- We are not liable for any injury, property damage, or loss caused by a tradesman during or after a job
- We are not liable for any loss caused by a tradesman failing to show up or abandoning a job mid-way
- Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the value of the specific job in dispute
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages
We do take reasonable steps to verify credentials and operate a fair dispute process โ but we are not a guarantor of any tradesman's work.
Tip for Residents: For large jobs (over $100,000 JMD), we recommend requesting proof of insurance from your tradesman and getting a written quote before paying any deposit.
11. Account Termination
11.1 By You
You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@iconnectja.net or via WhatsApp. Deleting your account does not cancel any active jobs or subscription payments due. Active escrow funds will be released per the dispute process.
11.2 By iConnectJA
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account for violations of these Terms, at our sole discretion. We will attempt to notify you before termination unless the violation is severe (e.g., fraud, fake certificates).
11.3 After Termination
Sections 6 (Payments), 7 (Disputes), 9 (Your Content), 10 (Liability), and 12 (Governing Law) survive termination.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.
iConnectJA is operated by Frontier Logistics Limited, a company registered under the Companies Act of Jamaica.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Send a WhatsApp notification to all registered users
- Display a notice on iconnectja.net for at least 14 days before the changes take effect
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
Continued use of iConnectJA after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
